Community Concepts, Inc. (CCI)

Community Concepts, Inc. (CCI) is a Community Action Agency and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization primarily serving Maine’s Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin Counties. Our mission is to provide pathways to a healthy life for and with those most impacted by inequities in Western Maine through programs, partnerships, and advocacy.

Since 1965, CCI has offered a variety of social services for our neighbors and communities. Currently, our dynamic range of programs focus on the areas of children and family services, housing and home energy, behavioral health services, financial wellness, and the work of the Maine Resiliency Center, established in the wake of the mass shooting event in Lewiston on October 25, 2023.

CCI serves more than 17,000 Mainers annually with programs including:

• Maine Families Home Visiting Program
• Fuel Assistance, the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP, and the Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP)
• Weatherization, the Central Heating Improvement Program (CHIP), Home Repair and Improvement, and Lead Abatement
• Housing Counseling, Credit & Foreclosure Counseling, Financial Coaching, Business Lending & Advising
• Outpatient Therapy, Substance Use Counseling, Residential Care, Beacon House Peer Recovery Center, and Behavioral Health Home Services
• Free community connection, support, and resources provided by the Maine Resiliency Center for those impacted by the October 2023 tragedy in Lewiston
